We aim to empower individuals to work through their situation by providing accurate information and emotional and practical support. We seek to build self-esteem and confidence.

We are not a campaigning organisation but offer non-judgemental unbiased support. Respect for the client is central to our values and we take our lead from the client in terms of the issues they want to explore e.g. if this includes spiritual issues, we aim to help our clients explore what is important to them. We train our listeners and educators to reflect our ethos and work in a way that is sensitive and appropriate to the client’s culture and beliefs. Our service has been valuable to people from any or no faith, and from many different cultures.

We aim to empower individuals to work through their situation by providing accurate information, and emotional and practical support. We seek to build self-esteem and confidence.

As a faith based organisation, we believe this approach reflects the values of Christ, and we seek to express our Christian faith by serving others in this way. We reserve the right to apply occupational requirements to key front line and leadership roles, to preserve the Christian ethos of our organisation in line with the Equality Act 2010.

Black Lives Matter – September 2020

Crossway Pregnancy Crisis Centre believes that black lives matter. This is not a radical statement, but sadly it is one we need reminding of in 2020. In the wake of George Floyd’s murder and the events that followed, we as a staff team have taken some time out to listen, to read, and to educate ourselves. We’re currently in the process of reviewing our policy documents to ensure the wording we choose is actively anti-racist, and we’ll share here any policy updates we make.

At this inflection point in history, we’d like to publicly recognise the need for more racial diversity and, importantly, inclusion at Crossway Pregnancy Crisis Centre — from our volunteers, to our staff team, in our partnerships and right up to board level. We’d also like to take this opportunity to apologise unreservedly to anyone who has sought our help over the past 21 years and felt underrepresented.

Justice feels very far away, but these baby steps are the beginning of an uncomfortable but necessary journey that we’re embarking on as a charity. We hope you’ll join our prayers for a equal, more righteous and loving world, particularly for those who have suffered because of the colour of their skin.

We will serve all faiths and none.

*Please note we are not able to refer directly for termination. We offer clients information on all the options and are well-resourced to provide both immediate and long term support as necessary, directing to other agencies as appropriate.
